Nowruz means “new day” and people in Iran and other cultures connected to Persian heritage celebrate it from ancient times to today. This celebration happens with the start of spring and symbolizes the renewal of nature and a fresh beginning. In Zoroastrian times, Nowruz was a sacred and joyful festival, so many traditions of this religion became part of the celebration. Nowruz traditions include cleaning the house, setting up the Haft-Seen table, visiting relatives, and holding joyful gatherings. Symbols of Nowruz, like green sprouts (Sabzeh) and goldfish, show the connection between people and nature and the hope for a blessed and happy year
