The Student and the Cup of Tea A student went to a wise master and said, “Master, I have a vast amount of knowledge, but I still have not found the answers I seek!” The master smiled and picked up a tea cup. He began pouring tea into the student’s cup, continuing even after it was full. The student, confused, exclaimed, “Master, the cup is overflowing!” The master replied, “Just like this cup, your mind is full of prior knowledge. If you wish to find the truth, you must first empty your mind.”
